Savio “The Goof” Knickerbocker
April 24, 2004-March 28, 2012

On Wednesday, March 28th, Savio peacefully left this life at approximately 6:40pm following a grim prognosis from a cancerous mass found in the right atrium of his heart. Savio was a service and therapy dog who was dear to many and who loved everyone he had ever met. His ability to adapt his behavior to the situation and the abilities of those around him was nothing that could be trained, but was a natural and amazing part of his personality. Savio was born into his litter in Tiffin, Ohio on April 24th, 2004 and became part of the Knickerbocker family in Columbus a few weeks after. He was trained as a service and therapy dog in early 2007 by his owner and handler, Anissa Knickerbocker. He put what he learned to immediate use at Kamp Dovetail later that year and made a very immediate and indelible impression on the volunteers and campers with his inviting smile and his patient manner. Savio is survived by his owners Kory and Anissa Knickerbocker, their daughter Adriana, and his canine companion, Dakhota.
